YEF REFLECTIVE SUPERVISION WORKSHOP

What are the Reflective Supervision Workshops?

Reflective Supervision is a vital component of a Trauma Informed School community. We strongly believe that school staff deserve the same level of emotional nourishment that we strive to give the young people in our schools.

This 4-day Reflective Supervision Workshop is aimed at TISUK practitioners who are providing or who wish to provide reflective supervision for staff within their settings. The course is designed to apply PRRR, one of the theoretical models that underpins TISUK training, to the field of reflective supervision.

The aim is to arm practitioners with the skills to provide emotional support in a safe space for staff members to reflect therapeutically and be heard, seen and met, so that they can best serve the young people in their setting.

Primarily, reflective supervision is about offering a creative and reflective space for staff to discuss the predominant issues that appear in their working environment. It is a supportive, respectful and purposeful process which is fundamentally concerned with how to best support staff so that they can best support the young people they work alongside.

Who should attend?

Between one and three members of staff from each YEF Intervention school should attend one of these workshops.

The member(s) of staff attending the training will need to have completed or be currently completing the TISUK 11-day Diploma.

In order to establish a sustainable model of reflective supervision within the school, the delegate/s attending need to have the capacity within their role to run sessions for staff (frequency can be decided by the school).
