"Engage provides a warm, caring and compassionate environment in which vulnerable children are supported to flourish enabling them to return to mainstream schools successfully. Because of the positive relationships between adults and young people that are consistent and PACEful there is a shared joy in learning. Young people form lasting, trusting connections with staff and return to the centre to seek them out. The centre is led by a TIS Practitioner who is highly skilled, passionate and dedicated to the work at Engage and within the wider Snowden Village. She works tirelessly on behalf of the young people and ensures that all staff are consistent in the therapeutic approaches they use.
The centre teaches PSHE effectively both discreetly and throughout the curriculum. Mental health is taught in addition to the PSHE curriculum and psycho education is valued. It has good links with other agencies, schools and the excellent practice at Engage is sought by other schools.
The centre understands the anxiety that families face and seeks to ensure that they are well supported both while the students are attending the centre and when they return to their mainstream schools. Engage is a haven for young people that supports their needs, advocates on their behalf and restores their belief in themselves."
