Director of Education & National Strategy
Julie is the Director of Education & National Strategy at TISUK, with over 23 years of experience in education, specializing in supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH) and/or challenging behaviour. She has worked at both practitioner and senior leadership levels across mainstream and specialist education settings.
A former Headteacher of a Primary Alternative Provision, Julie has extensive leadership experience in developing and embedding trauma-informed practice across several Multi Academy Trusts. As Trust Lead for Trauma-Informed Practice, she has successfully guided schools in creating environments that promote mental health, well-being, and inclusion for both students and staff.
Julie also provides consultancy, supporting teachers, education professionals, and counsellors with individual and group work involving vulnerable and challenging students. Her work spans training, coaching, mentoring, and supervision, with a focus on building school communities that prioritize mental health and create equitable, inclusive educational experiences.
Passionate about removing the barriers to learning and engagement, Julie is dedicated to helping children and young people achieve their full potential, whilst supporting and challenging schools to eveloping inclusive practices that foster positie, supportive environments where all members of the school community can flourish.
